I always try my best.

When I saw the video of Matt Stonie completing the fastest McDonald’s Happy Meal in 15 seconds, I made it my goal to do the same.

However, I failed miserably in my first attempt with a 3 minute finish time.

Goals are great because they can measure progress towards a desired end state. However, in my quest in become a competitive eater exactly like Matt Stonie, I found that if I strive to achieve my end goal right away, it can become impossible. From this experience, I learned importance of establishing short term goals.

When I set shorter term goals like finishing a Happy Meal in 2 minutes and 30 seconds and then to 2 minutes afterwards, my outputs became more tangible. By moving my goals after I finish one after another, I get better and become closer to my longer term goal.
